Artist Statement
My work explores the relationship between the Military-Industrial Complex and romance tourism.
With influences as diverse as Rousseau and Frida Kahlo, new variations are generated from both orderly and random textures.
Ever since I was a postgraduate I have been fascinated by the traditional understanding of relationships. What starts out as contemplation soon becomes debased into a tragedy of futility, leaving only a sense of chaos and the dawn of a new synthesis.
As shimmering derivatives become transformed through studious and academic practice, the viewer is left with a hymn to the inaccuracies of our era.
